Russian-born pianist Dina Vainshtein graduated from the Gnesins’ Institute of Music in Moscow and the New England Conservatory in Boston. Her principal teachers include Boris Berlin and Vivian Hornik Weilerstein. Vainshtein was awarded the Special Prize for Best Collaboration at the 1998 International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. She won prizes at the 1997 “Schubert and the Music of Modernity” International Competition in Austria and the 1993 All-Union Russian Piano Solo Competition.
Vainshtein has been a collaborative pianist for the studios of renowned pedagogues, such as Donald Weilerstein and Kim Kashkashian. She also works closely with many of today’s rising young performers. She has played recitals in prestigious concert venues including Alice Tully Hall ( New York), Jordan Hall ( Boston), and the Grand Hall in the Moscow Conservatory.
