Vincent Planès is a native of Annecy, France. An avid collaborative pianist, he came to the United States a decade ago to study with Menahem Pressler, distinguished pianist of the Beaux-Arts Trio. Since then he has performed in venues such as Carnegie Weill Recital Hall and Neue Galerie in New York, Jordan Hall in Boston, and the Chicago Cultural Center for the Dame Myra Hess Concert Series. Last spring, he accompanied Itzhak Perlman for a concert tour in Florida and played a recital with violist Kim Kashkashian at the 34 th International Viola Congress in Montréal. His European performances have taken him to France, Spain, Austria, Belgium, and Switzerland.
Mr. Planès is co-Artistic Director of the Festival de Musique de Chambre du Larzac (France) and was a founding member of the modern music ensemble Aïsthésis. He is currently an accompanist for the Perlman Music Program. While attending Indiana University, he served as the studio pianist for the class of János Starker. He is now a doctoral candidate in collaborative piano at <a href= “ New England Conservatory and has recently been granted the Presser Music Award.
